Pastor Mark Meyers
I want to take this opportunity to recommend The Power of Purity: A Conference for Men.  Tony Ingrassia showed himself to be a man who had known the agony of defeat, but was able to exemplify the victory that can only be found through the work of Christ.  His testimony, candid examples and especially his use of the Word of God will get your men to look to Christ as the answer.  Once again I heartily endorse Tony and the work that God has called him to do.

Sincerely,
Mark Meyers,
Senior Pastor,

I have had the opportunity to hear Tony Ingrassia speak for a total of ten hours during two different occasions.  At one time he spoke to 25 men at Grace Bible Chruch in Warrenton, Missouri and another to 40 men at a Child Evangelism Fellowship men's meeting.  Tony does a superb job at addressing effectively one of the most difficult topics to speak on - men's sexual purity.  Tony opens his heart and shares about his own personal struggles in this area and how God has given him victory.  At a time when Satan is seeking to destroy our society through out-of-control sexuality, Tony's message is urgently needed both for unsaved and especially for
saved men.

I just wanted to share some thoughts after experiencing The Power of Purity Conference that was held at Discovery Church in O'Fallon, Mo.  First, I'd have to confess that the conference exceeded all of my expectations.  The Holy Spirit was there to deliver and heal Christian men from the bondages that almost every Christian man on this planet has in some form or another.  I like the comment made that "it's as if Christian men are all given white suits upon salvation and are required to keep it clean while living in the midst of an active cesspool".  The first response is that it's impossible to do.  Well, as Christ himself said concerning the salvation of mankind, "With man it is impossible but with God ALL things are possible".We indeed live in a cesspool of immorality and degradation as an American society.  Christian men are asked to do what is naturally thought to be impossible: to live a life of purity before God and man.  The big problem is that not may Christian men are willing to admit that even in our best efforts, we fail, and we certainly do not talk about it!  The media, television, movies and especially the internet make it all too easy to live a secret life of deceptive sin that holds us powerfully captive and helpless.  Well, that's where this conference made a difference in the lives of the men who participated.  Tony shares in detail the truth that God personally deposited into him concerning how he was set free from all the bondages of his sexual addiction.  I personally experienced the freedom from my own bondages to live the life of purity that pleases God.  There's no doubt in my mind that this man (Tony) has been delivered, called, anointed, and used by God to "set the captives free" in this area of men's lives.  This conference has given me the spiritual keys to unlock the chains of bondage that needed to go a long time ago.  I would encourage every man to attend this conference so that the power of the Holy Spirit can save, deliver, heal, and strengthen your walk with God.

A few months ago, I received a phone call from my pastor, Rob Graham, who told me that Tony would be coming to speak at our church regarding issues of sexuality.  I remember his saying at the time that he thought God would use Tony and his message to storm the gates of hell.  Little did he know that this would happen in my life.I didn't want Tony to come to speak.  I knew that I would be on a collision course with my own sinful life and that it would be exposed in public, that there would be consequences and beyond the ongoing cycle of sin and repentance that I had been playing out before God, I would also have to face my wife.  This realization was not easy for me, but I knew that it had to come because I was simply not finding a way to put off my sinful self.  I would fail over and over, succumbing to the desires of my body, only to repent and eventually, even if after several months, found myself back in the same place again.  Pornography and masturbation were the fruits of roots that went well back into my earliest years.  I had never dealt with these roots, though;  in truth, not realizing that my earliest sexual experiences were determining factors in the way that my story would play out now.  Through sharing his story, Tony was confessing sins and stories that sounded very similar to mine.  I could relate to what he was saying and that gave me the courage to begin to confess my story and consider how the roots that I had planted and those that had been planted by others have simply grown into the sinful expression of my sexuality, until only recently.I am nearly 30 years old and have struggled with these issues for as long as I can remember.  However, by chopping those roots - by repenting of sexual sin going all the way back into the earliest parts of my story - I am now able to say that I have been set free from the bondage of sexual sin.  I firmly believe that my story is NOT unique.  Like Tony, I believe that men all throughout the church struggle in their sexual lives.  Tony helped me understand my story and to understand how the roots of my sexual experiences have created the fruits that I now experience.  If you are a leader in a church reading this letter, I highly encourage you to bring Tony to your men, allow him to speak freely about his struggles, to identify those roots that must be cut away, and see the men in your church set free from sexual struggle just as I was.  Take these steps and together your church will grow in unity in Christ.  I promise you that God will honor this step and through a process, He will finish the work that He has already begun all around you.  It won't be easy, but it is crucial.  Start now.

The story of the Phoenix bird rising from the ashes into new life and flying away in freedom, the storyof the solitary soldier on the battlefield making the hard heroic decision which liberates he and many others and earns him the Medal of Honor, the story of the Christ, alone in the garden in agony asking for the cup to be removed and yet accepting it as the only path forward - in deep trust of the Father.  These are some of the metaphors that come to my mind when thinking of how to communicate to another man the power of the story of the life of Christ as it continues to rise up through the life of my dearest friend, Tony Ingrassia.

I have known Tony for more than 40 years.  I have witnessed his struggles, I was there when he was publicly shamed as his struggle became known. And praise God the Father, I am here right now to humbly confess that the man I knew before is not the man I know today.  When the Kingdom of God truly is entered, all things are new and the old (though still present to tempt us) is gone.  What is impossible for man, is possible with God.  I can actually believe those words when I remember the story of my friend Tony.

Would to God that I could have the courage Tony had through the years of darkness and despair!  Every time I think of his story I am brought to my knees in tears, that is not an overstatement or exaggeration.  I don't know a story of redemption and repentance that is more dear to me.  Tony's story is the story of what only Christ can do.  If you are desperate enough to ask for help, to ask for Sexual Freedom - the desperate and wonderful story of Tony Ingrassia is the only answer I could give you.  Fortunately, it is full of the Life that is truly Life; Alive with the only cure to what ails all of us sexually broken men.  If you are a man, you need to hear this story.

10. Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:
"Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ.  For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.

11. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

"Guilty!  You are hereby sentenced to 45 years in your own private prison where you will receive visits from no loved ones, only from your worst enemy."  This was my sentence when I was just a young teen.  My private prison was my mind and my cellmate was Satan.  Since shame kept the visitors out and the cell door locked, the only one with whom I allowed myself to communicate in this area of my thought life was indeed my worst enemy.  He kept me "in line" by convincing me over time (yes, 45 years) my situation was unique and the embarrassment of discovery would be worse than changing my behavior.  My frustration only grew when I fell into the sin-confess-repent-repeat cycle.  I knew I was living a life of disobedience and jeopardizing my marriage, but in times of temptation it simply did not matter.  I needed my carnal fix.  I was in trouble. Then God put Tony in my path.  I attended his seminar on The Power of Purity.  Tony explored God's freedom through his lessons and transparent testimony.  His struggles and failures were common to all of us.Gentlemen, there were only two choices for me (and as lovingly as I can say, for you also).  Either live in bondage to impurity and its by-products of shame, embarrassment and frustration or seek and receive God's freedom by learning what the Word says about breaking this disabling cycle. Please be encouraged to take this path of freedom.
(Isaiah 61:1-4)  My sentence is over.
